Faith-Integrated Therapy

A Space to Explore Healing,
Purpose, and Growth

For many people, faith is not separate from emotional well-being, relationships, identity, or life decisions. It is woven into how they make meaning of hardship, understand their values, and discern the direction they want their lives to take.

A Note from Melissa

Why Bees, Why Honey

Hello, my name is Melissa. I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker and mental health therapist who believes every person deserves to feel seen, heard, valued, and understood.

I have always been drawn to bees and to the biblical image of kind words being like honey, sweet to the soul and healing to the body. That belief is at the heart of Bee Affirmed.

Therapy can be a safe place to be yourself without having everything figured out. Together, we can explore what hurts, what feels heavy, what you hope for, and what you want to change. It can also be a place to reconnect with your strengths, practice self compassion, and recognize your worth.

Bees represent purpose, community, perseverance, and transformation. They create something nourishing through small, intentional efforts over time. Healing often happens in much the same way, one conversation, one insight, one boundary, one prayer, one courageous choice, or one act of self care at a time.

Honey represents sweetness, nourishment, restoration, and abundance. It is created through time, effort, and transformation, and I believe healing can be, too.

The difficult parts of your story do not have to be wasted. With honesty, compassion, and care, painful experiences can become places where wisdom, resilience, and healing grow. Life can hold both hardship and sweetness, and therapy can help you navigate difficult seasons while making room for peace, hope, connection, and purpose.

My hope is to offer a space where you can honor your story, discover your strengths, release what is no longer serving you, and move toward a life that feels more peaceful, authentic, and meaningful.

If you are ready to begin, I invite you to schedule an appointment with me. You do not need to have everything figured out before you reach out. We can start right where you are.

Sincerely,
Melissa

At Bee Affirmed, faith-integrated therapy is available for clients who would like their relationship with God and Christian beliefs to be meaningfully included in the therapeutic process. This approach combines compassionate, evidence-based mental health care with room to explore the spiritual questions, hopes, and struggles that may be part of your journey.

Faith integration is always client-led. You decide whether, when, and how faith is included in therapy.

What It May Include

Space to Explore

Faith-integrated therapy may provide space to explore:

  • Your relationship with God
  • Purpose, calling, and direction
  • Personal values and decision-making
  • Anxiety, grief, trauma, or burnout through a faith-informed lens
  • Identity and the pressure to meet others' expectations
  • Forgiveness, shame, guilt, and self-compassion
  • Spiritual disconnection, doubt, or disappointment
  • Healthy boundaries, relationships, and communication
  • The connection between faith, resilience, and emotional well-being

Therapy may incorporate Christian values, prayer, Scripture, reflection, or other spiritual practices when desired by the client and clinically appropriate. It may also make room for honest questions, uncertainty, and spiritual struggle without judgment or pressure.

Evidence-Based Care, Whole-Person Support

Faith-integrated therapy does not replace clinical care with spiritual advice. Rather, it recognizes that emotional, relational, and spiritual concerns can be interconnected.

Melissa integrates approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, Gestalt therapy, Existential therapy, Narrative therapy, and prolonged exposure approaches when clinically appropriate. The therapeutic process remains collaborative, ethical, trauma-informed, and centered on your goals.

A Place to Discern What Matters Most

You may be navigating a transition, carrying the weight of responsibility, recovering from painful experiences, or asking deeper questions about the life God is calling you to live. Therapy can offer a confidential space to slow down, listen inwardly, understand what you are carrying, and move forward with greater clarity and intention.

You do not need to have everything figured out to begin. You are welcome to bring your faith, your questions, your hopes, and your whole self.
