Compassionate Care,
Rooted in Faith

At Bee Affirmed, therapy is more than symptom relief. It is a deliberate process of understanding patterns, reconnecting with what matters most, and moving forward with greater intention. Care is person-centered, trauma-informed, and tailored to each client's goals, lived experience, and pace.

Bee Affirmed is a therapeutic space where clinical rigor and meaningful self-exploration meet.

Melissa is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) who provides compassionate, thoughtful care rooted in evidence-based and depth-oriented approaches. Her work integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, Gestalt therapy, Existential therapy, Narrative therapy, and prolonged exposure approaches as clinically appropriate.

Therapy is grounded in a person-centered, strengths-based framework and may include support with:

  • Mindfulness and present-moment awareness
  • Emotion regulation
  • Distress tolerance
  • Interpersonal effectiveness
  • Identifying unhelpful patterns
  • Clarifying personal values and goals
  • Building a more grounded and authentic sense of self

Mindfulness at Bee Affirmed is not a performance or another expectation to meet. It is a practice of noticing, with compassion and curiosity, what is present.

A Note from Melissa

Why Bees,
Why Honey

I have always been drawn to bees and to the biblical image of kind words being like honey, sweet to the soul and healing to the body. That belief is at the heart of Bee Affirmed.

Bees represent purpose, community, perseverance, and transformation. They create something nourishing through small, intentional efforts over time. Healing often happens in much the same way, one conversation, one insight, one boundary, one prayer, one courageous choice, or one act of self care at a time.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Matthew 11:28

Faith is not a requirement — it is an invitation. My practice integrates spiritual principles for those who seek it, while honoring every individual's personal beliefs and journey. Above all, this is a place of grace.

Our Philosophy

A More Intentional Way Forward

The goal of therapy is not simply to feel better in the moment. It is to develop greater clarity, resilience, self-understanding, and direction, so that the life you build feels more aligned with who you are and what matters to you most.
